Studio Safety and Practiality

At our studios, we have a commitment to our students and the environment. We pay great attention to the details, and use high-quality building materials that are better for you, your practice and the world around us.

Lessons in an Eco-Aware Space

One of the biggest differences between our studios and all others in Virginia  is our customized HVAC  and Recovery Wall system. While maintaining the hot temperatures in the room – regardless of the how cold it is outside – we always bring in fresh air. This ensures clean, oxygenated air is moving through the space at all times. Our high-efficiency two electrical furnace allows up to 15 airflow changes per hour, along with our HRV Fresh Air Recovery system constantly control CO2 , humidity, azone  giving students a constant source of oxygen, anti-bacterial, and anti-mold treated air . This is important, because the studio is heated to 105 degrees Fahrenheit with 50% humidity. The heat helps cleanse the body and warm the muscles; the fresh air makes your practice more comfortable while invigorating your lungs.

Out studio walls are carefully layered with Himalayan Salt uses state of the art technology to reproduce the atmosphere of a salt cave with a monitored therapeutic microclimate. Air in our Yoga Salt Rooms is ionized and saturated with a natural substance – a low concentration of curative highly dispersed aerosol of dry saline (salt).

The microclimate in our Salt Rooms is formed naturally, through convective diffusion from the salt walls combined with controlled temperature and humidity. with natural clays, recycled and reclaimed aggregates. What’s so great about that? Negative ions are proven to produce positive biochemical reactions in humans. A negative charge in a space acts on our capacity to absorb and utilize oxygen, making us feel energized. Negative ions also increase levels of the mood chemical serotonin, helping to alleviate depression, relieve stress, and boost our feelings of well-being.

SAFE FROM THE GROUND UP

The flooring in the studio is a wood-grain cushioned-step sheet that is ergonomically designed, sound absorbing, and helps prevent injuries.

It is made up of  Zebra 1″ Tile is great for those who practice more advanced types of Yoga and also for those who may prefer more padding and comfort.  It was specifically developed by Zebra to allow for greater protection of the Back, Knees and other joints, but yet firm enough to offer great stability for the more advanced poses. The Combo Mat utilizes the same multiple foam density technology as the Zebra Yoga Tile, but in a 1″ thickness. It’s covered in tatami-style textured vinyl and features an anti-skid bottom for stability.

GO WITH THE (ECO) FLOW

Our faucets, shower heads and toilets are built for low-flow water consumption. They are designed to reduce water usage by 20% without sacrificing performance.
